The artist and healer Jessica Zambri is well versed in both music and mindfulness techniques, and here both of those ideas are explored with a singing voice that uses a real time soundtrack to document thoughts, feelings and emotions in ways that bring to mind New Age, therapeutic and introspective forms of communication. my_heart_sings_the_harmony_web_ad_alt_250

The appropriately titled “Intuitive Voicing” begins the listen with 30 minutes of guided meditation from Zambri’s soft, comforting voice and gentle music that allows the listener to be aware of their own body via the soothing instruction.

Side B opens with the gorgeous, harmonic, wordless singing of the enlightening “Sibble,” which is followed by the lush and dreamy ambience of “Foresting.” Further still, the strategic vocal layering of “Wispids” is quite relaxing, as is the atmospheric haze of the rich and indeed colorful “Orange.”

The last two tracks, “Making Hours” and “Navingale,” follow suit to the rest of the listen, naturally. The former comes in waves of elegant and surreal bouts of warmth, while the latter emits a bit of mystery thanks to the intimate backdrop versus the poetic vocal gestures.

Zambri has been a part of bands such as Zambri, Hooray For Earth, Solvey and Mass Gothic, and has toured around the globe as well. These days, she spends much of her time as a mindfulness-based stress reduction teacher, and the songs here certainly run parallel to that in body, mind and spirit.

A project that seeks to instill peace, decrease anxiety and help with optimal use of confidence, this album’s seven tracks present promote learning and allow others to locate their own intuitive voice, where each moment here is a step towards a more positive, harmonic and pleasurable existence. It would be really difficult to spend any time with Zambri’s work and not feel at ease.
