In order to comply with the requests of some of our site's visitors and advertisers, The Daily Vault has created the following policy regarding the privacy and security of our visitors:
The Daily Vault does not collect personal information of our visitors for any third-party marketing purpose, with one small and distinct exception. On occasion, we receive requests from bands to share e-mail addresses we gather as part of contests and giveaways. These addresses are provided ONLY to the band being featured on the Vault, and ONLY the address itself, not your name or any other identifying information, is provided to the band. This policy enables us to offer our readers a variety of free merchandise from bands seeking fans. No personal information shared with The Daily Vault will ever be sold to any third party for marketing purposes.
The Daily Vault presently is not utilizing the placement of cookies on a visitor's system. However, outside advertisers and services (e.g., "hit counters") may utilize such services.
The Daily Vault provides links to other sites throughout its pages. The Daily Vault is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of any such sites that our readers may visit.
The Daily Vault occasionally publishes selected e-mails received from visitors. These notes may feature the name and e-mail address of the sender. The visitor has the right to request in their e-mail that their e-mail address and/or their full name be withheld from publication.
Occasionally, The Daily Vault receives e-mails from artists. If their letters are published, their e-mail addresses will automatically be withheld, except in rare cases where the e-mail address has previously been published (e.g., listed in an album's liner notes). An artist writing to The Daily Vault who would like their e-mail address published with their letter should mention so in their e-mail.
The Daily Vault may periodically run contests in which we ask visitors to provide contact information (such as e-mail address) and demographic information (such as zip code). We also ask the winner(s) to provide their mailing address. The Daily Vault may in the future send occasional e-mail notifications of Daily Vault events and contests to readers who choose to share their e-mail address with us in the course of entering our contests. Any e-mails sent to these readers will include an opt-out feature whose use will result in the reader's address being immediately scrubbed from our list. Please direct any questions or concerns about this policy to us at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Daily Vault does NOT willingly display ad links to any of the following types of sites:
- Pornographic or adult sites
- Online gambling
- Smoking / tobacco related sites
Occasionally, advertisements featuring these might appear; if you see one, please notify us at email@example.com so that we can address this promptly with our advertising providers. The Daily Vault is not responsible for determining which advertisements are delivered to the site by the ad companies we work with, although we have formally requested that certain types of ads not appear on the site.
While we welcome all readers to the pages of The Daily Vault, parents should be aware that the content of some reviews may contain language that is not appropriate for young children. Parents are encouraged to read reviews before allowing children to access them.
If you have any questions about this privacy statement, the practices of this site, or your dealings with this site, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
